Reclaiming Your Day: A Guided Mindset Reset (rituals, practices, prompts)
the companion practice to: “if you don’t control your day, it will control you”
if you’ve been stuck in your head lately…
if your thoughts have been louder than your actual life…
if everything feels a little heavier, more negative, harder than it needs to be…
this is your way out.
not in a “fix everything forever” kind of way.
but in a right now, gently take your power back kind of way.
because the truth is:
you are not a prisoner of your mind.
even if it feels like it.
i wrote in our reflection article, “we all have a choice. and being in a good mood truly is a skill you have to practice. if we let the day or the circumstances control our joy, we have lost everything. because life will always happen, it will go up and down and it will throw curveballs. but circumstances do not have any true power over the mindset and space you create within your own being.”
and this practice is a very easy tool you can use to actually put that into practice. yay!
if this recent piece resonated with you — if you’ve been feeling stuck in your head, or like your thoughts have been running the show — this is the companion practice for you.
inside: i’ll guide you through a simple, step-by-step reset: how to interrupt the spiral, shift your energy, and consciously take your day back. + a beautiful journal prompt section to work through this topic.
its yours, and you will be able to come back to it whenever you need it.
✧ this is where we move from understanding… into actually practicing ✧

✧ The Truth We Forget
when you’re in a spiral, it feels convincing.
it feels like truth.
like reality.
like this is just how things are right now.
but that voice in your head?
the one narrating everything that’s wrong, everything that’s missing, everything that’s not enough —
that’s not you.
that’s a pattern.
and patterns can be interrupted.
you don’t need to wait to feel better to take your power back.
you take your power back… and then you start to feel better.
let’s do it together, simply go through each step of this reset, and finish with picking one of the journal prompts. you will feel much different afterwards, lighter and more hopeful. and the best part… you get to have this forever to come back to!
✧ when it feels hard to choose differently
sometimes you won’t want to do this.
sometimes the bad mood feels weirdly comforting. familiar. justified.
you’ll think:
“i don’t feel like it”
“this won’t work”
“today just sucks”
that’s okay.
you don’t need to feel ready.
you just need to interrupt it once.
even if it’s messy. even if you don’t fully believe it yet.
this is a practice and i promise it will get easier overtime.
✧ when to use this practice
come back to this practice when:
you wake up already in a bad mood
you’ve been scrolling and feel worse about your life
your thoughts won’t stop spiraling
everything feels heavy for no clear reason
you catch yourself thinking “today is just not my day”
this is your moment to interrupt it.
not later. not tomorrow.
right then.
✧ The “Take Your Day Back” Reset
this is the practice.
come back to this anytime you feel yourself slipping into that place.
